Part A: Notices

  • *All things in this manual are considered on Lugormod T2 2.1.7.5

  • *You should have read the FAQ in the Lugormod folder. If you don't have it, it will be shown at the bottom of this guide.

  • *Lugormod IS NOT a building mod. Lugor should be used as a RPG or hangout/competition mod. Please do not let building take over the mod, like many have fallen to.

  • *All COMMANDS that begin with T2 can be dropped Ex: /T2nickbuddy can be written /nickbuddy. However, ENTITIES cannot. Ex: t2_shaderremap cannot be written as shaderremap.

  • *Don’t expect this guide to show you explicitly how to make everything. To make something, you have to be creative and figure out how to make what you want to make with the tools you have. Almost anything is possible if you think it out enough.

  • *All the Appendixes are REFERENCE!!! Don’t FREAK OUT!!!

  • *If you have any trouble, feel free to contact me on AIM: computerrambop, or on MSN: ravrambop@hotmail.com. If you can't reach me on those, e-mail me at tehgamerer@gmail.com or post on Clan MOO Forums at www.clanmoo.com).

  • *Shout out to Clan MOO! (to join MOO, go to www.clanmoo.com)

Part B: Euka
This really shouldn’t belong here, but because this is also made by Phred/Robo85045, I will write about this mod, as well. Euka is a mod similar to Lugormod, except it is client side (you must have the mod to connect), and it has almost full control over everything. If you think you have control over every possible possibility with Lugormod, you gotta see Euka, because, well, its just…amazing. The saber system is fashioned after OJP-E for a extremely real looking saber system. Almost everything in Euka is more realistic than Lugormod, in my opinion. While Euka isn’t a “new” version of Lugormod (it is a totally different mod), it is quite fun. However, its still very obviously incomplete. There are many holes you can find, but this mod will probably be just about perfect by the time it reaches 1.0. It is now at 0.3, and getting more amazing every update. If you want to try out this amazing mod, download it from the Clan MOO site (www.clanmoo.com), and join our server (the IP is 72.36.185.19:27676).

Note: Lately the server has been locked while Phred works on it, so I don’t know how long its gonna take to get back up…

Part C: Printing/How To Read This Guide

OK, for the people who are going “OMFG THIS IS ALMOST 200 PAGES?!”, most of this is reference. Also, a good number of it you’ll rarely use, but its good to know them just in case, or if you’re a mapper (most entities are originally from Radient mapping). So…unless you’ve got a lot of paper, DON’T PRINT THIS WHOLE THING. What I’ll recommend depends on the amount of paper and ink you can do (“up to” means like if I say up to Appendix A, it doesn’t include Appendix A):

  • *Approximately 25 pages – Print the guide part, up to Appendix A, so you get the guide.

  • *Approximately 65 pages – Print up to Appendix C, so you get the guide and the Entity List.

  • *Approximately 80 pages – Print up to Appendix D, so you get the guide, Entity List, and Model List.

  • *Approximately 150 pages – Print the whole thing.

On to how to read this. Everything starting at Appendix A is a REFERENCE. That means that you don’t need to read through it (though it can be helpful, it isn’t needed), you can just skim through it looking for what you need. Really.

Part D: The Real Lugormod

The main reason that lugormod is probably not nearly as popular as JA+ is the players using it for the wrong uses. Now, of course, you CAN just build and then completely mutilate the mod and game, but I wont argue that right now. The problem is that many people start building, and then the server becomes a admin haven, along with people just trying to level up so they can level up even more. When a player joins a server and asks how Lugormod works or how to play, people then tell the player to go level up, or just ignore them and call them n00bs. The player will usually then quit and say Lugormod is a really dumb mod that they’ll never use because it sucks. This isn’t the mod’s fault, it’s the player’s. Most problems aren’t the mod’s fault. So... my recommendation is to help new people as much as you possibly can, as I am attempting to with this guide. Also, try not to make a whole new map when you build, just build to accent the map with some better abilities. An example of this is basically any map with a bar. You could (on the usually used Lugormod way, and the wrong way in my opinion) change all the texture, add effects, make some models, put in some models, etc. What you should probably do is get a good map (one of my favorites are Jedi Council GC or GCX), and place Uitem spawns in the bar. That way, you can use the bar usefully (make a person be the “bartender” who serves the items.
Remember: don’t build a map, accent it with entities.

Part 1: For People New To Lugormod Only
If you have already explored and understand Lugormod, skip over to Part 2 (Basic Building). Otherwise, continue this.
Lugormod is a modification for Jedi Academy that is essentially server-side. This means that the player requires no files (other than the map, if it isn't base) to get a normal playing experience. There IS a client side, but it only includes extras such as seeing perspective from being scaled, and some different effects. You don't need this, but if you want to check it out, download it at http://lugor.mine.nu/phpBB2/download.php?id=151. Lugormod is, as most people who have played both consider, a superior mod to JA+ and several other mods (in my opinion, at least). Lugor should not be compared to MovieBattles 2 or the Euka mod, because both are different kinds of game types, so they cannot be fairly compared.
I will show a quick walk through of a Lugormod server, considering you are a normal player, joining for the first (after visits will be explained too) time. You join a Lugormod server. The first thing you do is open your console by holding Shift and ` (the button above tab and to the left of 1, also known as tilde). You should know how to do this, as it will be used often. Also know that you can get out of console by pressing ` again. Now, while in console, type /regnick
(all console commands start with a / slash). Please note that when I put things like , it means that it must be filled by your own variable. An example of this is /regnick Insane heylookapassword. Now do /login
in console. This is the same username and password as when you registered. Remember for later that if you don't login about once a week at least, your account will be deleted. Now, in console do the following: If you want to be a Jedi or Sith - /profession 1, and if you want to be a Mercenary - /profession 2. You can now join the server if you have not already. The next thing to do is to set up your force or mercenary skills, depending on your profession. Jedi/Sith: Do /forcelevel and set your force points (ex. /forcelevel 1 to put 1 force point in Force Push). Mercs: Do /skills and set your skill points in the same fashion as Jedis or Sith. You are now ready for server action.
I cannot tell you this is on every Lugormod server, but most servers will have at least 1 of these credit-making strategies.

*Credit Machines: These are generally a button that you press Use on, and it will automatically give you money. Many servers are very against this.

*Stash: Most servers have stashes. These are small datapads that you can find, then bring to a "bank" and hold use to get usually around 50 Credits. Jedi can see a light blue beam of light if they have Force Sense level 2 or higher, are within viewing distance, and within Force Sense level range (level 5 sees much farther than level 2). Mercs can hear beeping noises from their Binoculars.

*Quest: This is found sometimes. Basically, you have to go in and kill a NPC or do something similar. If you loose, you dont get anything. If you win, you get credits.
Eventually, you will get enough Credits to level up. Do /buylevel and find out how much your next level costs. Then do /buylevel if you have the credits to buy it. Then you can do /forcelevel or /skills depending on your profession, and get more things. If you continue leveling up, you can get a very powerful character with many abilities.
