ABOUT US
Sunway International Business and Management Sdn Bhd (SIBM) was established in 2002 with the aim of designing training and consulting interventions that are aligned to our client's business objectives. SIBM is wholly owned by the Sunway Education Group Sdn Bhd which also consists of Sunway University College and Monash University Sunway Campus.
Our courses fall into the following categories: Public Programmes; Customised Programmes; Executive Education; C& G Courses, JPK Courses; Government Projects and International Programmes.
Our extensive list of Management, Information Technology, Microsoft Office Application, Culinary Arts, Multimedia, Leadership, Human Resources Management, Project Management, Events Management, Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Customer Service, Communication, Marketing, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), E-Business, Tourism and Music programmes range from the basic to the advanced, delivered at the best affordable price. SIBM also offers Executive Certificate, Professional Certificate, Professional Diploma and Executive Diploma programmes in certain fields.

FACILITIES
TRAINING ROOMS
The training rooms are well-equipped with state-of-the-art IT equipment that allows our participants to have maximum hands-on practice.

ART & DESIGN STUDIOS
A range of studios from design to print making, from ceramics to painting and drawing, photography is available. The art studios aim at developing practical skills in art and design.

COMPUTER AND MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION LABS
The computer labs are well-equipped with up-to-date software and hardware to facilitate teaching and learning. The labs are equipped with the latest hardware and software, including Apple Macintosh, Linux and Windows-based software.

HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM FACILITIES
There are three different culinary kitchens for production, preparation and pastry. In addition, there is a mock-up housekeeping suite, a five-star training restaurant, a delicatessen and a fully functional travel bureau to enable acquisition of knowledge and development of practical skills required by the industry.

LANGUAGE LABORATORIES
These are integrated with an effective teaching system that applied the latest techniques for speedy and intensive English and learning of other languages. Each lab also includes a computerized learning console which aids in assessment and development.
FACILITIES
PERFORMANCE & MEDIA FACILITIES
A fully-equipped Roof Top Theatre provides industry-related exposure and comes complete with Audio and Video production equipment for video production and pre-post production.
PSYCHOLOGY AND NURSING LABS
There are various training facilities for the development of practical skills including the psychology observation rooms, psychology laboratories, a nursing simulated ward and a nursing practical laboratory.

SCIENCE LABORATORIES
The labs are well-equipped with the complete tools and materials for the various experiments, especially in the fields of Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

ACCOMODATION
There are various types of excellent accommodation, namely the Sun-U Apartment and Sun-U Residence. Sun-U Apartment consists of 150 apartments which can accommodate up to 1,192 students. Sun-U Residence consists of two blocks of 20-storey buildings which have in total 992 rooms and can accommodate 1,456 students.

PUBLIC COURSES - MANAGEMENT

PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP(2 DAYS)
‘Management’ is getting things done with and through people. Traditionally in the typical pyramid the manager or the boss stays at the apex with the people serving and reporting upwards while the customers remain way down at the bottom. The modern-day inverted pyramid has now changed the way organisations respond to the customers, who now stay at the top with the manger or the boss working with and though the people to serve the customers. This workshop will look at the fundamentals and principles of management and the need for leadership to move people towards excellent customer service through exemplary quality initiatives and teamwork
ESSENTIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS (2 DAYS)
The importance of good communications whether in the office or while socialising need not be over emphasized. Many of the day-to-day problems are the results of people failing to communicate. Bad communications is the major cause of most problems. Bad communication leads to good plans falling short of targets, and often results in confusion and drop in morale. Communication is the exchange and flow of ideas or information between individuals, whereby the sender transmits a message to the receiver. Effective communication takes place only when the receiver understands the actual information or idea that the sender intended to transmit. How well are we communicating? Good communication is vital because we supervise, coach, coordinate, counsel and evaluate through communications. Good communication should integrate all members of an organisation, from top to bottom, from bottom to top and from side to side.

PUBLIC COURSES - MANAGEMENT
BUSINESS AND MARKETING STRATEGIES(2 DAYS)
This course introduces strategic planning and management process to achieve company's objectives. To achieve strategic goals requires the skills to configure the firm's internal competencies and resources with its external environment and build systems and processes to support the company's strategy. Dynamic framework for understanding the development and implementation of strategy will be adopted. The course begins with an elaboration of the traditional strategy framework to introduce fundamental building blocks of internal resources / capabilities, external environment, and strategic fit. How firm strategies may change over time in response to varying industry environments will be emphasized. Subsequently, areas of critical strategic significance, organizational design will be discussed. We will emphasize the notion of congruence, the strategic fit between strategy and organization, defined in terms of tasks, human capital, formal and informal structures, within the company. Having stressed on the importance of congruence between strategy and the design of the company, we will address the challenge of maintaining congruence in light of external and internal influences. The course closes with a discussion of how ethical considerations are interwoven into the domain of corporate strategy and organizational design
BASIC ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE PRINCIPLES(2 days)
Basic Accounting and Finance covers the fundamentals of financial and management accounting. This course is designed for non-accounting participants to understand key accounting terminology and concepts

Participants will be guided throughout this course with exercises, discussions and presentations in order to have a good comprehension of this subject

FUNDAMENTALS OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT(2 days)
Human Resource Management or HRM in short is the function within an organization that specifically focuses on the recruitment of, the management of, and the provision of direction for the people who work in the organization. In other words human resource management is the strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organization's most valued assets - the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the business. Human resource management are sometimes performed by the line managers. Human resource management invariably encompasses the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organizational development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee morale and motivation, communication, administration, and training.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT(2 DAYS)

Information Technology (IT) Management is specifically concerned with the exploration and the understanding of Information Technology as a corporate resource that determines both the strategic and the operational capabilities of an organisation in designing and developing products and services for maximum customer satisfaction, corporate productivity, profitability and competitiveness. IT Management is a different subject from Management Information Systems(MIS) in that MIS refer to information management methods tied to the automation or support of human decision making. IT Management on the other hand , particularly looks into information related management activities within an organisation
