Task 005-3
Keep your business operating safely.
Once you are in business you will need to keep it operating safely. There are many strict rules for this, particularly for Occupational Health and Safety. Computer equipment needs attention to placement and safety.
Look back at the computer equipment you purchased for your business in Task 005-1.

  1. List the equipment you bought (Column A)

  2. Locate on the Internet a page that gives OH&S advice to businesses. What is the http (address) of the site you have found? …………………………………………..

  3. In column B list at least two (2) safety or health issues that might effect this equipment. (eg. guards, working height, ventilation, light, radiation, noise, etc.).

  4. In column C provide one rule or piece of advice concerning your item of equipment that you have located on the web or in safety manuals. (There are some safety manuals in the Senior Library. There are also operators/owners manuals for most computer equipment – some of these can be found in the Library, you may have others at home to check with.)
