Bosch does not warrant the functions provided by the Software. Platform
Hardware Performance requirements for system components will largely depend on the system size and configuration. For example a small system will require significantly less PC power than the login server for a large-scale system. In general, however, it is assumed that the software will be run on mainstream PCs with a network architecture that can support acceptable latencies. Minimum Hardware BIS Server PC:
3 GHz Pentium 4 or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz or greater
4 GB RAM
80 GB of free HD space
VGA graphical adapter with 1280x1024 resolution, 32k colors
100 Mbit Ethernet network card (PCI)
DVD-ROM
1 free USB- or LPT-port for Dongle
Minimum Required Hardware BIS Client PC:
3 GHz Pentium 4 or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz or greater

VGA graphical adapter acc. to the Video requirements below
Latest Video Drivers, max. 1 year old, check via \dxdiag tool the date of current driver
It is recommended to operate a VIE Client not on a Connection Server or the Server, the Client may conflict with the different Video OPC-Servers or other Video components
Minimum Performance Requirements Remote / OPC Server:
Please provide for large OPC-Server configurations sufficient remote Server performance in terms of
• Windows 2003 and 2008 Operation System
• Separate OPC-Server Instance setups
• Sufficient PC Hardware Performance
• Splitting satellite systems into multiple connections Supported operating systems
The BIS system runs on these operating systems:
Windows Server 2003 SP2 (64 Bit operating system and VIE Client is not supported)
Windows XP Professional SP3 (64 Bit operating system is not supported)

Windows Server 2008 (64 Bit) (VIE Client is not supported on Server OS)
Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 Bit) (VIE Client is not supported on Server OS)
(Attention: Domain controllers are not supported; Divar XF, 400, 600 and 700 are not supported on 64 Bit)
Not supported Windows Editions
The BIS system does not support the following editions:

Important:
If you need to update your operating system Windows XP to Service Pack 3, you must not use the Windows Update functionality. Please use the Service Pack installation file as included on the BIS installation DVD under the following path: {BIS-DVD}:\BIS\3rd_Party\Patches\XPSP3 The packages for german and/or English are included on the BIS DVD. For other languages please download the language specific Service Pack installation file from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4
Supported SQL Server
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 (or higher), Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Supported Webserver
Internet Information Server 5.0 (Windows XP) or 6.0 (Windows 2003 Server) including Microsoft.Net Framework support
Internet Information Server 7.0 + 7.5 (Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008)
Supported browser
Internet Explorer 7 (except Dibos 7), Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9 Hint: Only the 32-Bit versions of Internet Explorer are supported.
Important:
The download and the installation of the BIS client needs administrator rights to work properly.
Logon with a user with administrator rights and connect to the BIS Login Server. The BIS-Client software will be downloaded and installed on the client PC. For Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 launch the Internet Explorer using the context menu and select “Run as administrator”. Once the BIS client software is downloaded you can logon as the user with restricted user rights and work with the BIS client. The procedure must be repeated if the BIS client software has changed on the BIS Login Server (e.g. a new BIS version was installed). Additionally required software packages
The BIS system requires the following third party applications:
Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) (will not be installed automatically) specific setting see section Setup instructions
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Microsoft Visual J# 2.0 Redistributable Package
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward compatibility
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects Collection
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client
Crystal Report Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (for Security Engine)
MDAC
SAX (MSXML)
Remote desktop Web Client (for VIE / Dibos / BVMS)
Microsoft SQL-Server
Hard lock Device Driver
Leadtools
The setup process installs and updates those packages automatically (not IIS).
On the BIS client the .NET Framework 2.0 is needed for the Video Engine and must also be installed manually. For the display of Dibos or BVMS 2.0.1 NVR via Video SDK in the Video Engine the .NET Framework 3.0 and 3.5 has to be provided in the same way
NOTE: For installing the Internet Information Server the Microsoft operating system installation CD is maybe required. Please ensure that the IIS is installed before starting the installation of BIS 2.5. Otherwise a remote server and the tools (Card Personalization for Access Engine) can be installed only. 3rd party software which is not installed from the installation process automatically is now located in BIS 2.5 on the DVD in folder “{DVD}\AddOns\Driver\3rd_Party\”.
